What is Landcare?

Landcare is a network of people who all have one thing in common: a desire to learn and contribute to the natural landscape in which they live. Gin Gin Landcare is part of an extensive national network of locally-based community groups that care for the environment, supporting the diversity of local ecosystems.

Bush Food Garden

We welcome all visitors to the community Bush Food Garden, which is always open for your enjoyment.

Our Bush Food Garden is primarily a bush tucker garden, but not all plants growing here are Australian. Australian plants will always be the most prominent feature in the garden.

Flowering plants are grown in the garden for colour to attract bees and beneficial insects and add nitrogen to the soil.

Keeping with our multi-cultural heritage, we have added some bush food trees and plants from other countries.

Most of these will be familiar to people from South-East Asia and South America.

Most plants and fruits grown here are edible, and no poisonous sprays are used.

So visit and explore. Smell the flowers and leaves, and taste the fruit, as you relax and enjoy paradise.
